Noosa Information

Noosa is one of Australia’s most important tourist destinations. It is located at the northern end of the sunshine coast in the south east of Queensland and about one hours drive north of Brisbane. Noosa is famous for its superb beach, the Noosa national Park with its colony of Koalas and the holiday ambience of the Hastings St Precinct. Noosa is the capital of chic in Australia and is the place to see and be seen. Hastings St runs along the beach front, and on either side is lined with classy boutiques, cafes and restaurants. Here you can find a place to watch the surfers and the bikini parade from an excellent restaurant while sipping a great Australian wine. It is truly hard to beat for your next holiday.

Noosa accommodation is legendary. There is so much to choose from ranging from a hostel or guest house through self catering apartment style accommodation right through to some of the best hotels and resorts in the world. Much of it is located in the Hastings St area and some is right on the beach front. There is also a choice on Noosa Hill that commands fantastic views and is still only walking distance from the thick of the action. Noosa Junction and Noosaville are both close by and both provide a wide array of alternative accommodation. The Noosa River runs right through the region and provides an excellent alternative to the beach for those who love their water sports. Jet Skis and sailing catamarans are available for hire on the river which is great for a family day out.

Noosa tours will help you fill your days and entertain the family. Once again the range is excellent. The late Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo is located in the Sunshine Coast hinterland. The Zoo has a shuttle bus service that will pick you up from your accommodation and drop you back again at the end of the day. This is highly recommended and is generally considered to be one of our best tourist attractions. Underwater world at Mooloolaba is also a wonderful attraction that the kids will love. Other local attractions that are worth visiting include the Eumundi markets, The Noosa Everglades and the Malany / Montville region to the west of Noosa. The Sunshine Coast is very easy to get to. It has its own airport at Marcoola that has regular domestic flights from southern destinations. Brisbane’s international airport is one hour away to the south via a modern motorway and there are also regular coach services. As well as being a popular international destination, Noosa is also popular with Australia’s southern hoi polloi so don’t come without a booking or you will probably miss out. Ideally you should plan and book your Noosa holiday as early as possible.
